With a guitar riff so addictive it’s easy to see why the latest Flyght Club release can be stuck on repeat for days and weeks to come.
The brainchild of Shauvik Sharan, Flyght Club utilises 808s, drums and funky riffs to make hits inspired by psychedelic rock music. It comes as no surprise that some of the greatest influences of this group are acts like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, with a fusion between new and old styles. Just under 30 seconds in, Sharan even nods to the late 70’s hit by the British rock band singing ‘Are you feeling comfortably numb?’.
That earlier guitar riff takes on a new life in the chorus as it loses the electric-sharp twang sound to a relaxed and breathy synth. There’s a real understanding from a listener’s perspective as to how much effort and time is put into crafting the beats and instrumentals of the song, it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.
The love interest in this song knows how to play a game or two, with the song's title alluding to a possible alter ego that not many people may be aware of. A hint to this lover’s actions is brought to attention when Flyght sings ‘What's beauty in a woman That's got no soul’. This is made even clearer when the lyrics ‘You smoothly slide your hand up my chest And wrap around my throat’ appear later on. This love interest is nothing but trouble.
What’s even more impressive about this latest single is the fact it's self-written, produced, mixed and mastered by Sharan, frontman of the band. For fans of the contemporary music project this is nothing but common knowledge as Sharan is involved in the production and writing of all his music only calling upon reinforcements for live performances.
This song may be called ‘Nobody Else Knows’ but this song definitely shouldn’t be a secret, it’s destined to be a smash.
