British-German folk Singer Sebastian Schub has released single ‘Sing Like Madonna’, the latest addition to their catchy acoustic repertoire.

The title may reference one of pop’s biggest artists, but the introduction and instrumental sound similar to another musical great, Taylor Swift. A mellow guitar and piano pairing which open the song are reminiscent of the 17 album tracks found on Swift’s eighth album ‘folklore’. A nice familiar comfort for new listeners.

Schub states ‘I wanna sing like Madonna’ while starting this track and he’s not alone on this one. With 64 UK top ten singles, it’s safe to say that at some point most music fans have dreamed of living like the ‘Material Girl’ herself. She has never left pop culture since her debut in the 80’s and even in 2024, Madonna is now the muse for this brand new folk record. Madonna isn’t the only iconic musician mentioned throughout this track as Freddy Mercury and Bruce Springsteen also receive a mention. Schub is proving that alongside making his own mark in the music industry, he understands the efforts of those who came before him.

Written and produced by the artist himself, the lyrics for this new single feel like a real-life manifestation. From ‘I wanna live in a house by the water’ to ‘Don’t wanna look at the stars / I want them looking at me’, Schub is definitely not indecisive, he has goals all mapped out.

Listeners can also recognise his booming vocal style which shows how Schub isn’t subtle with his emotions, his voice adds to the story. The sombre sounds matched with the heartfelt vocal style help show an audience the true passion and personality he puts into his projects. Schub’s efforts continue visually too as he embodies a 50’s-esque attire for the single artwork. The real love of past music eras is made clearer whether that’s through his lyrics or photoshoots.

This latest release from the songwriter is truly schub-lime.
